Orangutan Foundation International (OFI), working with Irene Spencer of Protravel International, a Virtuoso travel agency, operates very special trips each year to visit Camp Leakey and the Orangutan Care Center in Borneo with world-renowned primatologist, Dr Biruté Galdikas, as naturalist and host. These trips help Dr Galdikas and OFI protect the rain forest habitat of endangered orangutans. A portion of each trip cost is donated to OFI.

Dr. Biruté Galdikas is featured in a new IMAX film, "Born to be Wild 3D." Narrated by Morgan Freeman, it documents orphaned orangutans and elephants, and can be viewed here. From previous OFI tour participants:

"We thought the Orangutan Foundation International trip was absolutely wonderful. We were delighted with the broad spectrum of Orangutan behavior we were able to observe in this short time period. The many hours spent with Professor Galdikas were a delight. Seeing the Orangutans “up close” and the threats to their future was more informative than all of the books we read.  We hope the world will take note of the great work of the OFI and provide more support."
Dr. Carl G, San Francisco Ca.

"Having done wildlife and eco-tours on all seven continents, I can say without hesitation that this trip surpasses anything I've done before. The combination of the time spent with Dr Galdikas, the extensive up-close contact with those amazing orangutans, the fascinating environments of Kalimantan and the insights into Indonesian culture made this a truly unique and thoroughly delightful experience."
Stewart H., New York

"Thank you so very, very much for the most wonderful animal experience of my life to date. It was beyond anything I could have imagined."
Barbara A., Connecticut

"Our trip to Borneo was the best trip Brian and I ever had together. We hope to go back some day. It was a lovely trip and it was so generous of Dr Birute to give so much of her time to us. You did a great job!"
Brian and Helen S. San Francisco, CA

John Kay of the rock band Steppenwolf created this special video for OFI about his trip with us.
